Der Lokomotivbau begann 1910 mit Lieferungen von Rangierlokomotiven f\u00fcr Anschlussgleise und schmalspurigen Grubenlokomotiven. Die Bl\u00fctezeit des Lokomotivbaus erlebte Windhoff in der Zeit von 1930 bis 1945. Bis zu Einstellung des Lokomotivbaus im Jahr 1957 wurden etwa 600 Lokomotiven in Rheine gebaut, davon etwa 300 Feldbahnlokomotiven. Damit geh\u00f6rte Windhoff unter den Lokomotivherstellern zu den kleineren Herstellern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Im Juli 1938 beschaffte die Ziegelei Deppe in Uelsen-Lemke (Grafschaft Bentheim) diese kleinere Type LS13sIII, um hiermit den Ton von der nahe gelegenen Grube in das Werk zu transportieren. 1968 wurde die Lokomotive nicht mehr ben\u00f6tigt und gelangte in das nahe gelegene Torfwerk der Gebr. Brill in Georgsdorf bei Lingen. Hier war die Lok ohne F\u00fchrerhaus und mit einem Austauschmotor bis 1989 in der Torff\u00f6rderung im Einsatz.
