Der luftgek\u00fchlte Deutz-Dieselmotor treibt eine Hydraulikpumpe an, die einen \u00d6lstrom erzeugt, der wiederum einen Hydraulikmotor antreibt. Dieser ist mechanisch mit den beiden Rads\u00e4tzen verbunden. Der Vorteil gegen\u00fcber einem mechanischen Schaltgetriebe liegt in ihren kontinuierlichen Drehmomentverlauf ohne Zugkraftunterbrechung beim Schalten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die H\u00fcttenwerke Kayser, eine Kupferh\u00fctte in L\u00fcnen, erhielt diese Lokomotive 1981 fabrikneu von Diema und betrieb mit weiteren drei Schwesterlokomotiven ein 600mm-spuriges Werkbahnnetz. Aufgabe der Feldbahn war die Abfuhr der in der Verh\u00fcttungsprozess von Kupfer anfallenden Schlacke. Die gef\u00fcllten Schlackez\u00fcge wurden zun\u00e4chst in einen Abstellbahnhof gezogen, wo die fl\u00fcssige Schlacke erstarrte.
