Die Bauart ML50 entsprach dabei eher dem Leistungsspektrum der Bauindustrie. Unsere ML50 wurde mit zwei Schwesterlokomotiven fabrikneu an die Essener Stra\u00dfenbahn geliefert und vermutlich bis 1949 zur Tr\u00fcmmerr\u00e4umung im Gruga-Park eingesetzt. Nach Ende der Enttr\u00fcmmerung wurde die Feldbahn im Gruga Park belassen und mit eigens gebauten Personenwagen eine Parkbahn f\u00fcr Besucher eingerichtet. Hierbei erhielt unsere Lokomotive den Namen \u201eWachsames H\u00e4hnchen\u201c. 1965 wurde der Fuhrpark der Gruga-Bahn im Zuge der Bauarbeiten zur Bundesgartenschau erneuert und zwei der drei alten Demag-Lokomotiven fanden sich zun\u00e4chst bei der Bauunternehmung Carl M\u00fcller in Essen und sp\u00e4ter auf dem Schrottplatz Ludwig in Essen wieder.
