Der Betrieb untertage erforderte Zugmaschinen, die weder das &#8222;Wetter&#8220; (die Luftqualit\u00e4t unter Tage) belasteten, noch durch den Betrieb zu sog. &#8222;Schlagwetterexplosionen&#8220; durch austretende explosionsf\u00e4hige Gase wie Methan f\u00fchren konnte, wie sie durch die Funkenbildung elektrischer Fahrleitungslokomotiven. Auch das Mitf\u00fchren fl\u00fcchtigen Benzins in Benzinlokomotiven stellte ein Explosionsrisiko dar. Die Pressluftlokomotive war dahingehend eine besonders sichere Traktionsform.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unsere Pressluftlokomotive &#8222;Troll&#8220; wurde 1929 von Jung gebaut. und an ei Steinkohlenbergwerk im Ruhrkohlenbergbau geliefert. Nach dem Krieg tauchte die Lokomotive im Bergwerk Zollverein in Essen auf, wo sie 1967 ausgemustert wurde. Ein Freund alter Technik sicherte sich die Lokomotive und lagerte die Lok mit anderm Grubenbahnmaterial auf der Zeche Bonifacius in Essen-Kray. 1993 \u00fcbernahm das MFM die Lok.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Auff\u00e4llig ist der geschwei\u00dfte Rahmen der Lok, da 1929 Rahmen durchweg noch genietet wurden. W\u00e4hrend die Druckluftflaschen nachweislich aus dem Jahr 1929 stammen, entsprechen Rahmen, Fahrwerk, Druckluftmotor und Antrieb eindeutig der Nachkriegsbauart Pz10. Wom\u00f6glich sind hier in den 1950er- bis 1960er-Jahren zwei schadhafte zu einer einsatzbereiten Lokomotive verheiratet worden.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large
